GOP Tea Party can't even get foreign policy right now.

Late last week, President Obama gave a wonderful foreign policy speech. How great was it? Well, both the far right and the far left found faults in the speech. When only the far sides of the 2 parties have a problem with a speech, you know that it was a very good moderate speech. So why am I complaining about far right GOP Tea Party but not the far left Democrats? Let me explain.

For the far left Democrats, they explained that the speech, while very good, didn't go far enough in explaining  the drone attacks and releasing some of the prisoners in Cuba. They wanted a bigger explanation of drone strike policies, more openness in the policy, and the closure of the prison in Guantanamo Bay, which President Obama campaigned for in 2007. So they explained their problems with the speech, and explained how they wanted things fixed. The GOP Tea Party far right? Well, they said that they hated the speech because the President was being soft on terrorism. Okay, then explain what you'd do. Well, they said that the President was being soft on terrorist. They said this even though the President said the administration would go after individual terrorists cells. But the President said that no country could stay on a war footing forever, and that in the near future, the "War on Terrorism", with Al-Qaeda decimated, would be over. Yes, terrorists would be sought after and taken down, but America's war footing had to come to an end. So what is the the far right's plan? Simply, to keep the country on a war indefinitely. Presidents from Madison knew this isn't possible.  Why doesn't the far right understand it? I spent 20 years in the military and I can't explain their logic.

When the GOP was the Republican Party, they were strong on national security because they were strong on defense. Now, the GOP is the Tea Party and they're war-mongers. This makes them not strong on national security. That's right, the party of security, the GOP, since they've become the Tea Party, can't even get foreign policy right.

If USA and Washington is Rome, who plays Nero?

Are we watching the collapse of out nation? No, I really mean the collapse of our nation. We now have a nation that once again had a bridge collapse and has the worst infrastructure in the developed world. Our trains go 1/3 the speed of trains in Japan and Europe with daily delays, and our water and sewage system is crumbling.  Our electrical grids fail at an alarming rate, and new technology can't get to customers due to a lack of a grid they can get on. Our unemployment rate is still too high, the poor and the elderly are getting squeezed by austerity measures imposed by Congress. The gap between the CEO pay and regular workers' pay is the highest it's ever been, and the top 10% of earners now own 60% of America's wealth. So, really, is America going the way of Roman Empire? It sure looks like it, and if so, I have no doubt that Boehner, McConnell, and the entire Tea Party will fiddle while the country burns. But, when History is written, who gets the starring Nero role?

GOP: We'll pay for tornado relief by taking money from the poor.

The GOP Tea Party has again reminded all Americans exactly how cruel they can be by saying that any relief for tornado relief must be offset somewhere else in the budget. Okay, exactly where? From the Department of Defense? No, of course not. By closing loopholes for big businesses? Of course not! So where will the offsets come from? Well, the only place it can come from, domestic spending. So, from the poor and the elderly, from infrastructure and education, and from research and investments, then? That's right, that's where they'd have to cut if they refuse to look anywhere else. It doesn't matter that sequestration cut those programs. That's the only place the GOP Tea Party would cut money from, or in other words, they'll only look in places that they want the budget cut taken from, even if there was no tornado relief. The GOP Tea Party has shown itself again to be small, petty, mean, and cruel. Even in a time of crisis, they believe in taking from the poor to pay for disaster relief. And this is the party of Christian values? Yeah, right.

Senator McConnell shows just how out-of-touch GOP really is

Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell, the Senate Minority Leader, got on Meet The Press Sunday and showed exactly how out-of-touch the entire GOP Tea Party is now. When asked what he thought the main theme of the 2014 election would be, he said he thought it would be Obama Care. What? So, not jobs, or the economy, or how GOP-forced austerity has forced hardships on millions of Americans? Not our crumbling infrastructure or how wages for the middle class has stayed stagnant for over 30 years while the top 10 % has gained so much that they now own 60% of the wealth in America? So Senator McConnell, you really think think that everyone getting health care is more important than those things? You show just how much you and the entire GOP Tea Party is today.

Just admit it GOP, it's not umbrella-gate, you just despise President Obama.

For the last 4 years, whenever someone on the left would say something about how The Tea Party GOP said something ridiculous about President Obama, the GOP would say how heard the same thing from Democrats who disliked many thing about President Bush 43. In other words, you called Bush names, so shut up about what we say about Obama. But in this last flap, the so-called Umbrella-Gate, the GOP has shown exactly how much they absolutely hate President Obama. Look, Presidents on both sides of the aisle have been protected in that way for many years. The fact that you, The Tea Party GOP, are blowing it up in this way just shows that you have no regard for and absolutely despise President Obama. Just admit it, but when you do, explain why you hate him so much. Democrats can give you several reasons for the dislike, if not hatred, for President Bush 43. They'd probably start with the fact that he lost the popular vote in 2000, then move to an unjust invasion and war in Iraq, then move to Katrina. They might also add steep a tax cut, 2 unpaid wars, an unpaid Medicare plan, and deregulation that lead to a financial collapse in 2008 and our current deficit. So what is your problem with President Obama? Affordable health care for everyone, that's your problem with President Obama? No, tell us what it really is, although I'm sure I know what it really is: You don't like the color of his eyes, right?

Senator Rubio, do you even know what you're trying to say?

Florida Senator Rubio got on the morning shows and said that there was a complete agreement on the issues but that President Obama was intimidating everyone. Um, I'm sorry to say it this way, but Senator, do you know what the fuck you're talking about?

To start with, there is no agreement on anything between the Democrats and the GOP Tea Party. Take any issue, and you can see there's not an agreement, but a wide abyss between the two parties. Even on Immigration, where a bill that you helped craft is going through the Senate now, will die in the House as the Tea Party doesn't believe that anyone now here that came here without paper should have no way to become citizens. And, in truth, the whole country knows it. Now, as far as intimidation, you think the Obama Administration intimidates? How? So, there wasn't a Tea Party meeting in front of Congress Thursday, since they were intimidated? You can't speak up against the President because of intimidation? No, they both happened. You want to know what intimidation is? It's the GOP minority in the Senate stopping a bill that over 80% of Americans wanted. It's the GOP House majority refusing to take up a true job bill or talk with the Senate to get a budget. It's the NRA who wants to have an armed march on Washington against the law. All three of those are groups that is trying to force their will on everyone else in America, which, of course, are forms of intimidation, and the Obama Administration has nothing to do with those. And if the President can intimidate so much, how can things like that happen?

Senator Rubio got on the morning cable news shows and said that the Obama Administration was intimidating people. Senator, do you know what that word means, or even what it is that you're saying?

There's scandals, and then there's scandals.

To some on both the right and the lest side of the political aisle, this week, due to the three scandals supposedly out there, may be the start of a the downfall of the Obama Administration. Actually, to the right, it was what they hope will be the downfall. But really, are the scandals real, and is the Obama Administration in trouble?

Well, when it comes to Benghazi, there really isn't a scandal. What happened? Well, most of the intel we got from the area in the first few days came from a CIA operation in Benghazi. And naturally, the CIA wanted nothing of their operation known. So, talking papers were redacted to remove all information that the CIA had gleaned. After the CIA operation was known, leaked by a GOP Congressman by the way, then everything was told. Then there's the IRS going after right-leaning group. Is this bad? Yes! But it is a much bigger scandal that these groups, and those on the left, are actually non-profit, non-taxable groups that don't have to declare who gave them money. A section of the tax code for groups that was deemed good for communities to build things like parks and schools and is therefore non-political and not helping any one person, and that is where the scandal is at. Does anyone really think that groups like Carl Rove's groups, Tea Party groups, or Glen Beck's group isn't political and doesn't help one person? That's the real scandal. Now, we find out that the Department of Justice (DOJ) was bugging reporters for the Associated Press. Actually, DOJ got wiretaps to find out where the reporters had gotten certain information about a bomber. Yes, this is a violation of the First Amendment, and a true scandal that needs to be looked into.

So why is the GOP tying everything back to Benghazi? The answer is very simple. Nobody likes the IRS, and the GOP has made sure there is no Head of the IRS, so that scandal can't be laid on anyone's (i.e. The President's) door. Then, when it comes to the media and the press, you think the GOP thinks of them as a friend? Of course not. Now, they'll look at both of them and investigate them, but watch as the GOP tie everything back to Benghazi. They can blame this on President Obama and smear Hillary Clinton at the same time, at least to their far-right-wing backers. That's not true, of course, but the truth's not what they care about. They care about the next election, so that's the scandal they'll harp on. There's scandal, and then there's real scandals, and the GOP won't go after them.

Speaker Boehner, why stop at at health care?

Speaker Boehner this week has set a vote in the House to repeal the Affordable Healthcare Act next week, saying that between 70 and 80 Representatives hadn't had a chance to vote on it.This after saying it was the law of the land. Well Speaker, if that makes sense, then why not let them vote on Medicare D, or Medicare again? I'm sure there are even more that didn't get a vote on either of those bills. But don't stop there. Take a vote on the Civil Rights Act and Social Security. I doubt anyone in Congress now has had a chance to vote for those item. Wait, don't stop there, either. You don't like the EPA, HHS, or Department of Education either, so why not take a vote on them? Like the military but hate the State Department? Oh, that's right, you don't have to take a vote on them. All you have to do in those cases is to either slash funding by at least 50% or stop funding them completely. Then you don't have to show the voters how you really feel. And when security is cut at State so bad that lives are lost, you can blame the President and the Secretary of State.

Speaker Boehner, next week, why stop at taking a vote at repealing The Health Care Act? Oh, that's right, you really aren't. You're defunding every agency you don't like, and refusing to approve President Obama's nominations. Yeah, you're really looking to compromise and expand the base, aren't you?

GOP: We'll cut security funds, then blame the President for security problems.

Throughout today's discussions about Benghazi, one important thing was very apparent, while another important thing was almost completely glossed over.

The important but apparent thing is that for Democrats, Benghazi was a tragedy that needs to be explored and any mistakes and system shortcomings need to be pointed out and resolved, if possible. For the GOP Tea Party, Benghazi was a tragedy that needs to be blamed on the President and all Democrats in his administration. Future steps that might lessen the chance for such a tragedy happening again? Nope, don't care about that.

But the important fact that wasn't so apparent is that while the GOP members of House Committee railed against the alleged security flaws of the administration, they forgot to mention that in the last two years, the GOP has cut nearly $500 million dollars from the State Department security budget. I personally think it would have been nice for one of the people to simply ask the members why they decided to cut that amount from the security budget at State.

It takes a lot of guts for the GOP House members to cut funds from the State Department security budget and then blame the President when there's a security problem at State. Of course, it takes a lack of brains and hearts, too. But the GOP seems to have an abundance of people who have that exact set of qualities, don't they?

Hypocrisy, thy name is GOP

The GOP is a party that has 2 tenets that can never be broken: You must adhere to and obey Christian family values, and tax money must be as small as possible and never used for personal use. Imagine what would be said by the party if the Democrat running for the seat had cheated with their spouse and used state money to take personal trips to see the mistress. Well, the GOP candidate did. So, can anyone explain to me why the GOP in SC-01 has just elected Mark Sanford, who broke both of those tenets? Actually, yes, and in 1 word: Hypocrisy. Every GOP voter who voted for him should get out their dictionary and if they look up that word and don't see their picture, they should throw the dictionary out. You should all be ashamed of yourself, GOP voters in SC-01. But I know you won't, since you're such, oh what's the word, ... oh yeah,  hypocrites.

They said what? More lies from the right

There were a few things that I heard over the weekend and Monday that I still cant believe:

I wonder how many people in Boston wish they had a gun 2 weeks ago. And, the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. -- Wayne LaPierre, NRA. -- Oh really, Wayne. So the MIT security officer that had a gun stopped the bombers, right? No, he was killed. The next person the bombers met had no gun, so I guess he was killed, right? No, he lives. So Wayne, you want to tell me how the good guy with a gun stopped the bad guy with a gun again? And by the way, Wayne, tell me how a background check stops a good person from getting a gun. It doesn't, does it? It just makes it harder for a bad mad to get a gun.

You know, where I come from, we call that war in the 1860s the war of northern aggression, not a civil war.-- James W. Porter, new NRA President. -- I'm sorry to tell you James, but the south tried to secede. And Fort Sumter was fired on by the seceding state and the Confederate States of America. Hey James, A civil war isn't a war where everyone plays nice, it's when a group tries to break away from the government by armed rebellion. And that's exactly what happened in 1861. But,on a better note for you, I think you and Wayne, since you can't tell the truth, will get along really well together.

Liberals seem to be in a quandary with Dr. Gossner. They agree that he was killing babies by bashing their heads in on the table, but they think it's okay in the womb. -- Rich Lowry, Conservative writer. -- Sorry Rich, but I know of no liberal who thinks it's alright to take a viable baby out of the womb and kill it, or to kill it in the womb. The idea of legal abortions is to cease a pregnancy safely before it is a child if the mother chooses. Even in the case of a mother's life in jeopardy, all liberals want a viable embryo to be a child and to have a chance at life. We want women to know that they have options in case they can't or won't carry an embryo to term. But it should also be done safely, and at the earliest date, which is why Roe v. Wade severely limits late-term abortions. Now, I can't really speak for all liberals, but Rich, you should try to either.

Some times, conservatives open up their mouth and either a big lie comes out, or a broad generalization that doesn't accurately how liberals feel. I wonder why they think they can get away with it. Oh that's right, Fox News and Tea Party politicians not only let them, but they lead the band.

NRA doesn't step over the line, they march right by it.

This last week, the NRA held their yearly convention, and on top of their usual stack of lies and insinuations about gun control groups and the President. But then, in a move designed to show America the strength of the NRA, they made plans for a march on Washington on the fourth of July. But this wouldn't be a march with placards, they want a march with NRA members armed with loaded assault rifles. And, they got 900 signatures for such a march. The NRA calls this not a march, but civil disobedience.  So, 900 people are going to march down Washington streets with loaded weapons and to show the government that they can't be cowered. You know what I call it? I call it an attempt at mob rule, and I think they should all be jailed and the NRA should be considered a subversive, anarchy group. The NRA hasn't decided to step over the line, they marched over it, and then turned around and blew it to kingdom come.

GOP answers to economic news? Let's not know about them.

The GOP has found a sure-fire cure for bad economic news: Let's get rid of the survey, and we won't hear about the bad news.As asinine as that sounds, that's exactly what some GOP Congressmen want to do.

The  US Census Bureau, along with getting the census every 10 years, also is in charge of compiling the data that gets the monthly data that shows the country how the economy is doing. So mow, some GOP Congressmen have decided to sponsor a bill that would make the 10 year census information the only data that the Census Bureau could compile. Now, of course, whatever economic information that is going on in the country wouldn't change, but there would be no way to track it. And since there would be no way to track it, there would be no way to fix it. No weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly reports to make decisions on, whether the news would be good or bad.

Several GOP Congressmen are tired of hearing bad economic news, so they are sponsoring a bill that would eliminate the gathering of the data. To me, that sounds like making illegal things legal. Neither would stop the problems, but in both ways, we wouldn't know we even had problems that needed to be fixed.
