Gov. Perry and Galileo

I have been thinking about the Tea Party plus 1 debate-- It's tough to say that Huntsman is a member of the Tea Party-- and I was thinking about what what Gov. Perry said about global warming and Galileo. Now I may have forgotten a few things about history, but wasn't it Galileo for science and the religious zealots who disbelieved the truth? This would make the analogy completely wrong, since Perry and the Tea Party don't believe in evolution or global warming, theories that are accepted by the scientists today. But I must admit, these are just theories. Why are they theories? Because in science, that which can't be proved with 100% certainty must be labeled a theory. There is Einstein's Theory of Relativity, which can't be proved but in all likelihood is true. Then there is my theory, the Fox's Theory of Parallel Universes, which can't be proved, and since it is a stand-up joke that I thought of. probably false. But nobody has ever been able to disprove it. And yes, it is based on a mathematical formula, so it may be true. But back to my original point: Gov. Perry, you and the Tea Party are not Galileo, but the religious zealots with no facts to back you. And as far as teaching creationism in school, this is a idea, not a theory with empirical data. I'll let you teach it in school when you allow me to teach the Science of Astrology. Don't believe in it? I read my horoscope every day in the paper, so it must be true, right?-LOL!!!
